Two founding board members, Hap Pool and Geroge McNeil, made a cross country trek in November 2022 to pick up a partially completed Hatz Bi-Plane kit in a U-Haul truck traveling more than 2,000 miles.  Board member Michael Dunlevie was alerted to an opportunity to secure the bi-plane if the Board could figure out away to transport it back to Colorado.  The Young Eagle Aviators Board of Directors convened to approve to spend some of the early money raised to transport the Hatz plane back to Eagle Valley Regional Airport (EGE).  PICTURED LEFT: Unloading the Hatz at EGE.

The donation was made by Steve Barber and the plane was located in Savanah, Georgia.  Hap Pool, Board Director, stated “We are excited to provide real world experience to Eagle Valley High School students to develop the skills necessary to become professional aircraft mechanics.”
